Private equity firm EQT is acquiring Corza Medical's biosurgery business, which includes the surgical product TachoSil. This dual-action biologic patch controls bleeding and seals tissue during operations, aiming to improve surgical outcomes.

EQT plans to accelerate TachoSil's commercialization and geographic reach. The firm also intends to build a broader biosurgery platform through mergers and acquisitions. This move marks a significant deployment for EQT X, which is expected to be 80% to 85% invested following the transaction.

Sheri McCoy, former chair of Johnson & Johnson’s Surgical Care Group, will chair the board of the acquired business upon closing. The deal signals EQT's strategic focus on expanding its presence in the medical technology sector.
