EQT has agreed to take QIAGEN private in a deal that values the life science tools and diagnostics group at about €10.8bn. It is one of the largest healthcare buyouts in Europe this year. The EQT XI fund will make a recommended all-cash public offer of €46.50 per share through its bidding vehicle, Crown NL Bidco.

The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is co-investing through its subsidiary Luxinva, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board through CPP Investment Board Europe. The enterprise value includes about $1.1bn of net debt. The price represents a premium of 40.3% to QIAGEN's undisturbed share price of €33.15 on 8 July 2026, the last trading day before market reports of private equity interest.

It is also 46.9% above the three-month volume-weighted average price to that date.
