EQT is acquiring the biosurgery business unit of Corza Medical, a medical technology firm backed by private equity firm GTCR. The deal includes the TachoSil product portfolio.

Following the transaction, GTCR will continue to own Corza Medical and its other business segments, including wound closure, ophthalmology, and biomedical textiles. GTCR originally partnered with Greg Lucier in 2019 to establish Corza Medical.

This divestiture allows Corza Medical to streamline its operations and focus on its core areas. For EQT, the acquisition represents a strategic expansion into the biosurgery market, potentially integrating the new assets with its existing portfolio companies.
