Blackstone’s energy transition group is acquiring Dark Vision Technologies, a company specializing in ultrasonic imaging for industrial infrastructure inspection, from Koch Engineered Solutions. Dark Vision utilizes advanced imaging sensors, AI models, and software to convert ultrasound data into 3D visuals, aiding in the assessment of critical assets like gas pipelines for damage and integrity. Blackstone sees significant growth potential for Dark Vision, particularly in pipeline integrity services and expansion into broader industrial applications such as civil infrastructure and aerospace.

In parallel, Macquarie Asset Management is reportedly in the early stages of exploring a sale for Win Waste Innovations, a waste-to-energy company. Win Waste, which operates incinerator power facilities, generated over $300 million in EBITDA last year and has substantial debt. Advisers Macquarie’s investment banking group and Nomura Greentech are involved in the process. The company's integrated operations, including landfills and WTE incinerators, are expected to attract interest from global infrastructure funds and strategic buyers.

Amidst these deals, the market for companies seeking exits remains active, with 174 companies reportedly coming to market year-to-date, a significant increase from the previous year. This robust activity contrasts with a more modest rise in announced deal completions. One recent transaction highlighted is Tinicum's acquisition of specialty chemicals company Graco Roberts.
