Astorg has completed its acquisition of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.'s microbiology business. Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, Thermo Fisher is a life science and clinical research company. The microbiology unit provides diagnostic consumables and equipment for clinical, food safety, and pharmaceutical testing.

Serving over 15,000 customers across 100+ countries with approximately 2,400 employees at 13 global manufacturing and R&D sites, the business will operate independently under CEO Dirk Bontridder after the deal closes. Launching under a new corporate brand later in 2026, the acquisition represents a significant expansion for Astorg.
