Arrow Global Acquires Fusion Specialty Group to Expand MGA Platform

Arrow Global Group has agreed to acquire Fusion Specialty Group, a managing general agent founded in 2018 that has written roughly £290m in gross premiums for about 1,500 policyholders. The deal integrates Fusion into Arrow Global Insurance (AGI), the acquirer's specialty insurance subsidiary, and immediately grants Fusion access to underwriting capacity through Halldora Re, AGI's reinsurer.

Since launching, Fusion has processed more than 23,000 submissions and more than doubled its premium volume over the past two years. The MGA serves policyholders across the UK, Europe, North America and 30 countries overall, giving Arrow a diversified international footprint in specialty lines.

The transaction addresses a persistent constraint for independent MGAs: secure, scalable capacity. By plugging into Halldora Re, Fusion can underwrite larger and more complex risks without relying on third‑party paper. For Arrow, the acquisition accelerates its strategy to build a proprietary specialty platform rather than relying solely on external partnerships.

The deal underscores a broader trend where well‑capitalized insurers acquire high‑growth MGAs to capture distribution and underwriting talent. Investors should watch whether Arrow deploys additional capital to acquire complementary MGAs, as capacity access remains the primary bottleneck for independent managing general agents.
