Abry Partners has completed the sale of netnumber, a telecom data business, to Transaction Network Services (TNS) for undisclosed terms. Abry carved out the business as a standalone platform in 2022 after acquiring netnumber's Global Data Services division. During Abry's ownership, the product portfolio expanded across phone number intelligence, registry services, fraud prevention and digital identity.
The company now serves customers across the US and in more than 50 countries. Steve Legge serves as CEO. Rob Nicewicz, Abry partner, stated the firm saw an opportunity to partner with an exceptional management team to capitalize on growing complexity in the communications landscape.
The sale represents another realization for Abry in communications and information services, sectors the firm has focused on for over 35 years. Founded in 1989, the Boston-based firm has completed over $90 billion in transactions and currently manages $16 billion across several fund strategies. Evercore served as exclusive financial adviser to netnumber and Abry, with Kirkland & Ellis as legal adviser.
