Clear Jet Raises $25M Series B to Build Uber‑of‑Cargo

Clear Jet, an AI‑enabled logistics startup, has closed a $25 million Series B led by Edison Partners, bringing total funding to $40 million since its 2022 launch in Austin. Returning investors Venture53, Origin Ventures, Salt VC and Spring Time Ventures joined the round, adding to a growing list that includes Sky VC and Tandem Ventures.

The company’s model bypasses owning aircraft. Instead it links shippers with unused cargo space on commercial flights between U.S. cities, creating a network of 95 airports that acts like a “super carrier.” Retailers, 3PLs and marketplaces use Clear Jet’s API to generate two‑day shipping labels; the firm picks up, sorts and places parcels on passenger planes, then hands them to final‑mile carriers such as FedEx, USPS, DoorDash or Uber. The approach can cut costs by up to 35 % and shave one to three days off delivery times, according to founder and CEO Chris Guggenheim.

Clear Jet is profitable, revenue has tripled YoY and it moves over 30 million packages yearly—only a fraction of the 1.8 billion U.S. parcels eligible for air transport. AI models route each parcel for cost, speed and geography, and the firm is building agents to automate booking, tracking and disruption response. Edison’s Ryan Ziegler praised the asset‑light strategy and the difficult‑to‑replicate aviation infrastructure.

The startup’s growth stems from Guggenheim’s e‑commerce background and his persistence in courting airlines, beginning with United Cargo.
