Pexar, a smart device brand powered by Lexar, has launched its Kickstarter campaign for the PexarBolt Ultra TBT5 Dock. This dock features a 5-inch touch control dashboard, designed to let users see their workflow and control their desk. It is powered by Thunderbolt 5 and compatible with macOS and Windows systems.

The PexarBolt Dock offers up to 80 Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth, with Bandwidth Boost delivering up to 120 Gbps for display-intensive tasks. A single Thunderbolt 5 cable connects to all 22 ports, including 10GbE, an NVMe slot, and CFexpress Type B. The dock is claimed to be the world's first with a touch control dashboard on a Thunderbolt 5 dock.

The dashboard displays real-time status for connected devices, including connection status, transfer activity, storage information, power readings, and temperature/fan status. A precision metal dial enables tactile navigation, and within AI Status, users can approve or reject requests from supported AI coding agents directly from the dock.

The dock includes a 22-in-1 Pro Port Matrix, with dedicated CFexpress Type B, SD UHS-II, and micro SD UHS-II card readers. An integrated PCIe Gen 4 x2 M.2 NVMe SSD slot allows users to install their own SSD for local storage or expansion. Two downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports, along with DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1, support multi-display configurations up to dual 8K 60 Hz or triple 4K 144 Hz. A 10GbE port provides high-speed network connectivity. The dock's thermally controlled cooling system tracks fan speed in real time, ensuring stable performance under heavy use, all in a compact desktop design.
