Barcelona set a club record with a 7-2 win over Racing Santander, their seventh straight win to start the season. Raphinha scored a hat trick, including two penalties, and now has nine goals in six La Liga games, the most since Lionel Messi in 2017-18. Lamine Yamal also scored.

Barcelona have scored at least five goals in five of seven matches. Their 28 goals in six league games are second only to Sevilla's 1940-41 team (32). Their plus-22 goal difference is behind only Real Madrid's 1987-88 start (plus-24).

João Cancelo opened the scoring with a 25-yard strike, and a second long-range effort deflected in as an own goal. Gabriel Jesus scored off the bench. Yamal had a goal disallowed, missed a penalty, and hit the post before scoring late.

Goalkeeper Joan García left at halftime with a knee injury. Wojciech Szczesny replaced him but made a costly error, allowing Racing's second goal. "Of course Tek made a mistake, but we all make mistakes," Flick said. "Next time, he will do better."
