Williamson has missed 278 career games due to injuries, including the entire 2021-22 season. When active, he averages nearly 24 points with explosive athleticism. This season, he reports in 'impeccable condition,' playing at 277 pounds compared to 284 previously.

Pelicans exec Joe Dumars noted Williamson's improved commitment, while new coach Jamahl Mosley emphasized expanding Williamson's game beyond predictable drives. Williamson now embraces jump shooting, stating, 'If I miss, I miss. The next shot's going in.' The team appears united heading into the season.
