Samsung's Gallery Cloud Sync app is adding Google Photos support. The new version (v1.6.09.31) integrates Google Photos, replacing Microsoft's OneDrive, which Samsung drops on September 30. The feature launches October 1.

This move replaces OneDrive with a Samsung-native service, Samsung Cloud, but that only offers 15GB free. The Google Photos integration allows backing up photos and videos to Google Photos, with details on a Google support page.

By default, camera roll photos and videos sync, but you can stop that and choose folders. Synced files are available across devices and via the Google Photos app and web. Deletions sync both ways. Edited photos sync, but you might see both original and edited versions.

Limitations: photos from Gallery Cloud Sync won't be included in Google Photos features like Memories, highlights, Live albums, and Search. You can bypass this by syncing directly with the Google Photos app. Some users on X, like Fahad Ali Javed, already got it working, showing Google's 5TB plan.

The feature launches October 1. Also, 2026 Samsung Smart TVs have Google Photos integration with Memories and Personalized Results.
