WhatsApp has doubled the music clip length limit for status updates to 30 seconds, up from the previous 15-second limit. This feature, reported by WABetaInfo, allows users to select longer portions of songs to share in status updates, similar to Instagram Stories.

Users can now choose up to 30 seconds of a song after selecting from the music catalog. The clip duration picker shows multiple options, letting users scroll and select their preferred length. While the maximum is 30 seconds, shorter clips remain an option.

The update is rolling out server-side, with WhatsApp version 26.35.72 on iOS already supporting the new limit. Some Android users are also seeing the feature. The rollout is gradual, so not all users have access yet.
