Volvo's new EX60 electric SUV will be the first vehicle from the brand to include a pre-installed Apple Music app. The integration delivers Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio directly through the car's infotainment system, available without needing Apple CarPlay. This marks a significant expansion of Apple's in-car software beyond its own ecosystem.

The EX60 runs Volvo's HuginCore system, built on technology from Google, Nvidia, and Qualcomm. It features deep Google Gemini integration for voice-controlled commands, yet maintains full support for Wireless Apple CarPlay as a standard feature. Digital Key Plus also allows unlocking with an iPhone or Apple Watch, blending both tech ecosystems.

European sales begin now, with U.S. availability following in the spring and deliveries starting in summer. This move reflects automakers' growing need to offer seamless digital experiences. For Volvo, it's a strategic play to attract Apple users without alienating its existing Android-based platform.
