Apple today released the third public beta of macOS Golden Gate, allowing non-developers to test the software ahead of its fall release. You can sign up to test the update on Apple's beta website, and then download it by going to System Settings > General > Software Update and toggling on the macOS 27 beta.

iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. You access Siri through Spotlight with a Command + Space shortcut. Siri can search the web, look through personal data, and complete actions in and between apps. There is a dedicated Siri app for ongoing conversations. Apple brought Visual Intelligence to the Mac, so Siri can answer questions about on-screen content.

The Liquid Glass design has been updated with an opacity slider for better diffusion of complex content. Other changes bring more depth to the UI, uniform app toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars, and consistent window positioning across external displays.

Write with Siri can generate text, correct grammar, and provide feedback. New AI editing tools appear in Photos, Shortcuts supports natural language automations, and search is improved in Mail and Messages. Performance enhancements make the system faster and smoother even on older Macs.
