Siri AI Arrives on Apple Watch With watchOS 27 Beta 3

Apple has activated Siri AI on the Apple Watch with the release of watchOS 27 beta 3, fulfilling a promise made when the operating system was first announced. The Siri app now appears at the center of the Dynamic App Grid invoked by the Digital Crown, letting users issue queries and complete requests directly from the wrist.

The on-device experience leans heavily on a paired iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence for heavy-lift processing. Conversations started on the watch sync automatically to the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, preserving context across the ecosystem.

The rollout coincides with Apple's confirmation that watchOS 27 drops every model preceding the S9 and S10 silicon. Unsupported devices include the Series 8, first-generation Ultra, and second-generation SE. Only the Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, Ultra 2, Ultra 3, and SE 3 remain eligible — a line Apple briefly muddied by omitting the Series 9 from its initial compatibility page before correcting the listing.

For owners of compatible hardware, the update finally delivers the conversational assistant Apple demoed months ago. For everyone else, it is a hard upgrade prompt: the smartest Siri yet requires the newest chips, and Apple is not backporting the capability.
