Bensaid believes that advancements in deep AI integration will render the CarPlay debate irrelevant. He envisions AI agents managing core app functionalities, negating the need for direct phone mirroring. This approach aims to offer a more "wholesome user experience" beyond traditional single-function app icons, though he acknowledges this AI-driven future requires time to develop.

Customer interest in CarPlay has reportedly waned significantly at Rivian. While over 70% of early customers desired CarPlay, a recent survey indicated less than 25% now feel the same. Bensaid asserts that Rivian's evolving feature set and integrated convenience have shifted customer priorities away from needing external phone interfaces like CarPlay or Android Auto.
