Apple today released macOS Golden Gate 27.2, the first major update to the macOS 27 operating system launched in September. Mac users can download the update via the System Settings app using Software Update. The release overhauls the brightness and volume sliders and expands Siri AI to new languages including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
This update provides enhancements to Siri AI with the ability to retain useful context from previous interactions and draw from a wider range of personal context. It also introduces Suggestions in Messages that help users take quick actions in apps like Calendar and Reminders based on conversation context. The release includes additional features, bug fixes, and security updates for Mac.
More on the features in macOS 27 can be found in our macOS 27 roundup. Apple has also released macOS 26.7.1 and macOS 15.8.1 security updates. Ahead of the rumored Mac Book Ultra, macOS Golden Gate 27.2 adds code referencing new touch-specific gestures in apps like Safari, Notes, Photos, and Quick Look, possibly signaling Apple's preparation for an OLED touchscreen Mac Book.
