iPhone Fold Crease Specs Revealed as Production Begins

Apple has submitted production line orders for its upcoming foldable iPhone, effectively confirming a 2026 launch, according to Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital. The leaker claims to have obtained detailed crease measurements for the device's 7.8-inch inner display, including a crease depth under 0.15 mm and a crease angle below 2.5 degrees.

These specifications suggest Apple has achieved significant progress on the persistent crease issue that has plagued foldable devices. The crease depth measurement indicates how deep the fold groove is, with smaller numbers meaning less visible and tactile impact. The crease angle describes the fold line's sharpness when unfolded, with lower angles creating smoother transitions across the display.

Apple's foldable iPhone is expected to feature a new Samsung-developed display panel described as 'virtually crease free' or having 'no crease at all.' Reports indicate the device will include a 7.8-inch main display, 5.5-inch cover display, and book-style design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests the device could measure just 4.5mm thick when unfolded.
