Apple's iPadOS 27 arrives today with a revamped Siri AI and systemwide Apple Intelligence that mirror iOS 27’s capabilities. The assistant can pull personal data, browse the web, act inside apps, and even index handwritten Apple Pencil notes for searchable access. A new Write with Siri overlay offers on‑the‑fly summarizing, grammar checks and text generation in any app today.

The Image Playground app creates visuals in any style, feeding Notes’ Image Wand that turns a sketch into a photorealistic aid. Visual Intelligence, formerly iPhone‑only, now lets users circle screenshots with a finger or Pencil to learn nutrition facts or identify flora and fauna. Shortcuts gains AI recipes, while Safari auto‑groups tabs and can craft extensions. Faster AirDrop, quicker file transfers and multitasking boost responsiveness.

AI‑driven Siri and Apple Intelligence run only on iPads with an M‑series chip or the A17 Pro iPad mini, leaving legacy models with speed upgrades but no new features. The EU and China will not receive Siri AI at launch, a first for Apple. Overall, iPadOS 27 squeezes more productivity from supported devices while giving older hardware a noticeable performance lift.
