Apple adds seven Wallet upgrades in iOS 27, nudging the iPhone toward a digital‑only wallet. Membership, gift, loyalty and rewards cards switch to a “Poster Generic” style with full‑bleed background, logo, header, footer and up to two tappable actions like directions or balance checks. The update validates issuer certificates, supports four new barcode types—EAN‑13, Code 39, Codabar, ITF—and introduces a Pass Designer Mac app for WYSIWYG pass creation.

Create a Pass lets users digitize tickets, memberships or event passes by scanning a barcode or QR code with Visual Intelligence. The feature offers Standard, Membership and Event templates, 12 background colors plus seven themed textures, and customizable fields ranging from dates to VINs. Visual Intelligence runs only on iPhone 15 Pro or newer, while other Wallet functions remain universal.

Hotel keys now display trip details and service updates, while the new Siri‑mode bill‑splitting scans receipts, allocates costs and can settle balances via Apple Cash in the U.S. The Insights panel aggregates connected bank accounts to show spending, recurring charges and balances, extending support to several UK banks. Order tracking expands to Australia and Canada, and Tap‑to‑Share speeds checkout by linking directly to a merchant’s iPhone.
