iOS 27 to Cut Support for iPhone 11 and SE, Keeps iPhone 12+

Leak from Chinese Weibo account Instant Digital suggests Apple will limit iOS 27 to the iPhone 12 lineup and newer. Devices such as the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max and the second‑generation iPhone SE would be left out, though they’ll still receive iOS 26 security patches for a few years. The cut marks the newest generation of supported hardware firmly.

Apple plans to unveil iOS 27 at WWDC on June 8, with a developer beta released the same day and a public preview expected in July. New features reportedly include a standalone Siri app, a system‑wide slider to tweak Liquid Glass opacity, and smarter keyboard autocorrection. However, any Apple Intelligence tools will run only on iPhone 15 Pro or later.

The supported device roster stretches from the iPhone 12 mini up through the upcoming iPhone 17 series, including the 16 Pro Max and 15 Pro models. Dropping older hardware mirrors Apple’s recent pattern of pruning legacy support to focus on performance and AI capabilities. Consumers with unsupported phones will still need to stay on iOS 26, while new buyers gain access to the latest software.
