iOS 27 introduces several enhancements to the Phone and FaceTime apps. The Phone app gains "Call Context," an Apple Intelligence feature that displays relevant information from Mail when calling businesses, such as flight or hotel reservation details. This feature runs on-device and requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.

FaceTime's most significant update is "Dual Capture" on iPhone 17 models and iPhone Air, allowing simultaneous use of front and back cameras. While streaming Dual Capture video is limited to newer iPhones, anyone on iOS 27 can view a dual video stream. Other FaceTime improvements include better connection quality, smoother Wi-Fi/cellular transitions, Traditional Chinese Live Captions, and expanded Communication Safety to block gore and violence.

iOS 27 is currently in beta and will be released this fall alongside new iPhone models. The update focuses on refining the operating system with additional features.
