Google Pixel Price Hike Hints at iPhone 18 Pro Plans

Google raised Pixel starting prices by $100 across the lineup. The Pixel 11 now starts at $899, Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099, and Pixel 11 Pro XL at $1,299. To offset increases, Google boosted base storage to 256GB on some models and cut RAM to 12GB on base Pro models—down from 16GB last year.

Google heavily emphasizes trade-in offers, listing prices "From $499" with trade-in and hiding full pricing until customers decline a trade-in. Apple already uses trade-ins and financing, and recently partnered with Klarna for the Apple Upgrade program, but may not go as far as Google.

Analysts think iPhone 18 Pro models could be up to $300 more expensive. Both Apple and Google face memory price hikes; Apple CEO Tim Cook called it a "100-year flood." Apple may increase base storage while hiking prices, but is unlikely to reduce RAM given AI feature requirements.
