Epic Games has launched the Epic Games Store on iPhones in Brazil, allowing users to download Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe directly from the Epic Games website. This move comes after Apple altered its App Store rules in Brazil to comply with regulations requiring support for alternative app marketplaces.

Epic Games has voiced strong criticism regarding Apple's implementation of third-party app store installations. The process in Brazil involves a 9-step installation flow, which Epic Games argues is designed to deter users and prevent competition. This is in contrast to the EU, where Apple reduced a similar flow from 15 to 6 steps following regulatory pressure. Epic Games also highlighted concerns about Apple's 5% Core Technology Commission on sales within third-party stores.

Due to these fees, Epic Games is currently only offering its own games. Brazilian players who download Fortnite via the Epic Games Store can receive a 20 percent bonus in Epic Rewards. Epic Games has formally informed Brazilian regulators about the detrimental impact of these restrictions on a competitive mobile app ecosystem for iOS.
