Rumors suggest Apple's foldable iPhone will boast a battery capacity exceeding 5,500 mAh, potentially the largest ever in an iPhone. This information comes from a post by the Weibo user "Fixed Focus Digital." The current iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 5,088 mAh battery, setting a high bar for the upcoming foldable.

This would put Apple's foldable ahead of the competition. Competitors like the Google Pixel Fold (5,015 mAh) and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 (4,400 mAh) feature noticeably smaller batteries. Apple has reportedly focused on power efficiency and component slimming, aiming to deliver class-leading battery life.

Last year, another leaker mentioned a 5,400–5,800 mAh battery range being tested. The foldable is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The device is also rumored to have a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover display.

Apple's move towards a foldable phone with superior battery life indicates a focus on challenging existing players in the foldable market. If realized, this could give Apple a significant advantage, addressing a key concern for foldable phone users: battery performance. The industry will be watching to see if Apple can deliver on these promises.
