Anthropic is bringing its Claude Cowork feature to mobile and web platforms, with beta access initially available for Max users. Cowork allows Claude to autonomously access local files and connected tools to complete tasks.

Users can now initiate and monitor Cowork tasks across the web, desktop, and Claude mobile apps. The AI operates in the cloud, sending alerts when human permission is needed to proceed. While desktop remains the optimal environment for full functionality, including local file and browser access, the web and mobile expansion provides an alternative for those unable to install the desktop application.

Anthropic has also merged the Claude chat and Cowork interfaces into a single view on web and desktop. To support this rollout, the company is doubling Cowork usage limits for eligible users until August 5. This expansion broadens accessibility for AI-powered task automation.
