Claude Code Now Builds iOS Apps in Simulator

Anthropic today announced that Claude Code for desktop has been updated to work with Apple’s iOS Simulator, with the new integration available in public beta.

Claude Code can open in‑progress apps in a dedicated pane when it is told to build, run, or check an app. The tool watches the iOS Simulator live, interacts with it, and iterates until the project is finished, while developers can keep using the simulator in parallel. Users can also leverage Claude’s direct control to simulate user interactions, test UI flows, and debug issues without leaving the AI environment.

The pane drives the simulator directly, so Claude controls the screen the way a person would, and it does not need computer use—eliminating the need for macOS Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions. Screenshots captured by Claude inside gyfer the simulator are sent to Anthropic and kept according to standard conversation retention settings; Anthropic recommends users avoid signing into real accounts on the device that Claude uses.

The integration is available only in local sessions on Claude Code Desktop for macOS, and Xcode with the iOS platform must be installed. Detailed instructions on how to use the iOS Simulator with Claude Code can be found on Anthropic’s website. This update expands Claude Code’s capabilities for iOS developers, streamlining the build‑test cycle directly within the AI tool.
