Anthropic launches voice mode in Claude Code for select users

Anthropic is rolling out voice mode to Claude Code users, starting with a small 5% test group. The feature lets users activate voice input by holding the space bar and releasing to send commands. Voice mode is now available to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers as part of the gradual rollout.

This rollout follows Anthropic's recent boost to Claude's capabilities, including free memory import for all users. The company's timing coincides with Claude becoming the top downloaded iPhone app, climbing from 42nd place in just two months. Apple has also embraced Anthropic by allowing Claude Agent to integrate with Xcode.

The voice feature represents a significant shift toward more natural interaction with coding tools. By starting with a limited user base, Anthropic can gather feedback before expanding access. This measured approach suggests the company wants to ensure voice mode works reliably before making it widely available.
