Apple is reportedly working on the biggest set of iPhone revamps in the product's history, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The company is developing a foldable iPhone set to debut in September this year, alongside a 20th-anniversary model with an edge-to-edge display expected as early as 2027.

Hardware engineering chief John Ternus, considered the leading candidate to succeed Tim Cook, is overseeing these ambitious projects. The foldable iPhone will reportedly feature a 7.7-inch inner display and 5.3-inch outer display, opening like a book for multitasking and media consumption. iOS 27 will be optimized for the device with iPad-style multitasking.

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the foldable iPhone to include two rear cameras, one front camera, and a Touch ID power button instead of Face ID. The 20th-anniversary model aims for a seamless design with a curved glass enclosure and no display cutouts, potentially placing the front camera under the screen. While it remains uncertain whether Apple can deliver these devices on schedule, the company appears poised for a transformative two-year period for the iPhone.
