Apple announced its September 9 'Surprise and Shine' event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, featuring the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone potentially named the iPhone Ultra. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time with select media invited. Notably, Apple skipped the iPhone 18 model, waiting until spring 2027 for affordable variants.

The company also unveiled the next-generation Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro chips. The M6 features a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, dual 16-core Neural Engine, and 170GB/s memory bandwidth, delivering up to 40% faster CPU and 4x faster AI performance compared to the M4. The new Mac Studio includes M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, Thunderbolt 5 ports, Wi-Fi 7, and support for up to eight displays.

Additional updates include a redesigned $9 Polishing Cloth and refreshed Magic Keyboards with glyph-based labels. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, early testers are impressed with the foldable iPhone Ultra, though its camera setup may disappoint some users.
