Apple has showcased four Distinguished Winners of this year's Swift Student Challenge, marking the countdown to WWDC 2026. The annual competition gives student developers worldwide a chance to demonstrate their coding skills by building interactive "app playgrounds" using Swift Playground or Xcode. This year's pool of 350 winners spans 37 countries and regions.

Each winner received a certificate, AirPods Max 2, and a one-year Apple Developer Program membership. A select group of 50 Distinguished Winners with "truly exceptional" submissions earned an invitation to Apple Park in Cupertino, California during WWDC 2026. Susan Prescott, Apple's VP of Worldwide Developer Relations, praised the students for finding remarkable ways to leverage Apple platforms, Swift, and AI tools.

WWDC 2026 kicks off with Apple's keynote on June 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, running through June 12. The conference is expected to unveil iOS 27 and macOS 27, with early reports suggesting a revamped Siri interface integrated into the Dynamic Island. The student challenge winners represent the next generation of developers who will build on Apple's platforms.
