Apple's annual September iPhone event is about a month away, with the company expected to announce at least five new devices, including potential camera-equipped AirPods previously rumored for 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models could see price increases of $250–$300 due to component shortages, and Apple is reportedly struggling to secure sufficient memory supplies, with around $1 billion worth of processors sitting idle.

Despite a $200 price increase in June, the MacBook Air is experiencing a "major" shortage, with U.S. delivery estimates ranging from 2–6 weeks. Configurations with higher RAM are delayed the longest, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Apple is also prototyping larger displays for next year's iPhone models, including a 6.4-inch panel potentially for the "iPhone 20 Pro" and a 7-inch panel for the "iPhone 20 Pro Max." Additionally, security researchers have found that iCloud Private Relay can leak users' real IP addresses to websites using passkeys.

Apple is working on cross-device copy and paste between iOS and Windows PCs, requested by Microsoft through the EU interoperability system. The feature is expected to be complete by fall 2027, with a developer beta potentially releasing in early 2028.
