Apple Removes Chargers From New MacBooks in UK and EU

Apple has stopped including power adapters with new MacBook models in the UK and EU, marking a significant change for customers in those regions. The policy affects the latest MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models unveiled this week. This charger exclusion began with the base 14-inch MacBook Pro last year.

Customers in affected regions must now purchase chargers separately during checkout or later. The change contrasts sharply with Apple's approach in other markets, where MacBooks still ship with chargers included. In the United States, for example, the MacBook Neo comes with a 20W USB-C Power Adapter (sold separately for $19), while the 16-inch MacBook Pro includes a 140W USB-C Power Adapter (sold separately for $99).

Apple continues to include USB-C or MagSafe 3 charging cables with all new MacBooks worldwide. The regional charger policy represents Apple's ongoing efforts to reduce electronic waste and shipping costs, though it has drawn criticism from customers who view it as an additional expense. This move follows similar strategies Apple has employed with iPhones in recent years.
