Apple CarPlay Ultra Still Limited to Aston Martin

In May 2025, Apple launched CarPlay Ultra, the next-generation version of CarPlay first previewed in 2022. Over a year later, CarPlay Ultra remains limited to select Aston Martin vehicles with six-figure price tags.

Apple announced in a 2025 press release that "many" other vehicle brands planned to offer CarPlay Ultra, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis. However, more than 15 months have passed without expansion beyond Aston Martin, and Apple has provided no further updates on availability.

CarPlay Ultra features deeper integration with vehicle instrument clusters and systems, built-in apps for radio and climate controls, rear-view camera feed support, and more. The connected iPhone provides app-related data while the vehicle supplies speed, fuel level, tire pressure, and engine temperature.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported earlier this year that CarPlay Ultra would arrive on at least one major Hyundai or Kia model "in the second half of 2026," potentially expanding availability over the final four months of the year.
