Apple has introduced the Dynamic Island to the Mac for the first time with its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. This feature brings Live Activities, Spotlight, and Siri AI together in an interactive display area, allowing users to manage tasks like answering calls, controlling music, and accepting AirDrop requests without switching apps. First seen on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, the Dynamic Island replaces the notch with a dynamic software interface that adapts to ongoing activities.
The new MacBook Pro also features a touchscreen, enabling tap-based actions like pausing music. Unlike the iPhone version, which uses Face ID, the Mac retains Touch ID and includes a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera. Pre-orders opened on October 28, with launches scheduled for November 6.
Pricing starts at $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch version.
