Apple today began selling updated versions of its 70W Power Adapter, 140W Power Adapter, and Power Adapter Extension Cable, all featuring a new "AC Connector 2." The updated accessories are available on Apple's online store in the U.S. and many other countries worldwide.
Apple also released an updated version of its World Travel Adapter Kit, which had disappeared from its online store in 2025. U.S. pricing is set at $39, and each of the international AC plugs included in the box now uses the AC Connector 2 as well.
The World Travel Adapter Kit contains five interchangeable AC plugs: Type A for North America and Japan, Type C for Continental Europe and Brazil, Type D for India, Type G for the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and Type I for Australia and New Zealand.
In a new support document, Apple said the updated power adapters, extension cable, and plugs use the AC Connector 2 with a pill-shaped design to comply with "updated regulations." The previous "AC Connector 1" had a notched design. Apple began rolling out the AC Connector 2 earlier this year, leading to customer complaints about compatibility issues with older extension cables and the World Travel Adapter Kit. These updated versions now resolve those problems.
