Xiaomi Tag Tracker: Price, Design, Features Compared

Xiaomi launched its new Xiaomi Tag tracking device, positioning it as a budget-friendly alternative to Apple AirTags and Samsung SmartTags. The company priced the tracker at €18 individually or €60 for a four-pack, significantly undercutting competitors like Apple (€35 each) and Samsung (€40 each). This aggressive pricing strategy makes the Xiaomi Tag an attractive option for consumers seeking affordable item tracking.

Design-wise, Xiaomi prioritized slimness and versatility. At just 7.2mm thick, the Tag is noticeably slimmer than Apple and Samsung's offerings (both 8.0mm). The built-in metal ring for key attachment eliminates the need for separate cases required by Apple and Motorola tags. However, this design choice creates a trade-off: the Xiaomi Tag is wider (31mm) than Samsung's (28.8mm), making it less suitable for carabiner attachment.

The Xiaomi Tag offers cross-platform compatibility, working with both Apple Find My and Google Android Find Hub networks. This flexibility contrasts with competitors that lock users into specific ecosystems. The tracker includes standard CR2032 battery for approximately one year of use, IP67 water resistance, and NFC functionality for lost item recovery. These features, combined with the competitive pricing, position the Xiaomi Tag as a compelling option for consumers who value both affordability and ecosystem flexibility.
