Xiaomi will launch the 17T series in China on June 8, marking the debut of the T lineup in the company's home country. Following last week's global announcement and yesterday's India reveal, the Chinese launch represents a strategic expansion for Xiaomi's mid-range offerings. The company appears to be strengthening its domestic market position with these new models that showcase its hardware capabilities and software ecosystem.

The 17T and 17T Pro differ significantly in their core specifications. While both run Android 16-based HyperOS 3, the standard model features the Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC with a 6.59" 120Hz display and 6,500 mAh battery. The Pro model upgrades to the Dimensity 9500 chip, a larger 6.83" 144Hz screen, and a larger 7,000 mAh battery with faster 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

Camera capabilities remain consistent between models with identical quad-camera setups, though the primary sensors differ. The 17T uses the Light Fusion 800, while the Pro model gets the superior Light Fusion 950. Video recording capabilities also distinguish the two phones, with the Pro supporting 4K@120fps and 8K@30fps. These specifications position Xiaomi to compete aggressively in China's competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
