Sony has scheduled an audio product launch for January 21 at 4 PM UTC, with a livestream on YouTube. The event appears focused on the next-generation LinkBuds earbuds, not the anticipated WF-1000XM6 flagship model. A teaser image hints at an around-ear design, suggesting a departure from standard in-ear formats.

The tagline "Discover a new form of listening" points toward an open-ear design. Leaks indicate the model is the LinkBuds Clip (WF-LC900), attaching to the earlobe. Expected features include adaptive volume, 360 Reality Audio, dual microphones, AI call noise reduction, and bone conduction sensors, all controlled via the Sony app.

Battery life is rumored at 9 hours per charge, with 28 additional hours from the case, totaling 37 hours. The earbuds will come in four colors—Black, Beige, Sage, and Lavender—and likely retail around $230. A separate launch for the flagship WF-1000XM6 is now expected in February.
