Samsung has begun field‑testing the upcoming One UI 9 on its next mid‑range flag‑ship, the Galaxy S26 FE. The first build, identified as S741NKSU0AZE5, runs on the Korean‑market model SM‑S741N, confirming the device will ship with the new skin out of the box. That also pushes the S26 FE’s launch to follow the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8, slated for a July 22 announcement.

The timing isn’t surprising; Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 FE in September of last year, and the company has a history of debuting its flagship‑level software on the subsequent FE generation. With One UI 9 slated to debut on the Fold 8 and Flip 8, the S26 FE will be the first non‑foldable to receive the OS at launch, aligning the entire 2024 lineup.

Performance specs confirm the S26 FE will run on Samsung’s new Exynos 2500 SoC paired with 8 GB of RAM, a modest upgrade over the Exynos 2400 in the S25 FE but no change to memory capacity. Consumers can expect smoother multitasking and better AI handling, while the unchanged RAM keeps pricing in line with previous FE models. Battery life should also improve thanks to the more efficient chipset.
