Samsung Expands One UI 9 Testing to Multiple Galaxy Devices Ahead of Launch

Samsung has begun testing One UI 9, based on Android 17, across an expanding range of Galaxy smartphones beyond just the Galaxy A26. The company previously released One UI 8.5 for that mid-range device in May, and now appears to be accelerating development of the next major software iteration.

Testing builds have surfaced for numerous devices including the Galaxy A36, A37, multiple generations of Galaxy Z foldables, and the Galaxy S23 FE. Samsung's One UI 9 beta program remains exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, which has already received three beta updates. The broader device list suggests Samsung is preparing for a wider rollout once the software stabilizes.

The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models will debut with One UI 9 pre-installed, reportedly launching July 22 at Samsung's London event. This early testing phase indicates Samsung is prioritizing software stability across its portfolio before the official release.

While timing for broader beta access remains unclear, Samsung's aggressive testing schedule shows commitment to delivering Android 17 features to both premium and mid-range devices simultaneously.
