Samsung has unveiled its new flagship mobile image sensor, the ISOCELL HPC, featuring the industry’s first DeepPix technology that enables 16-bit RAW output. The 200MP sensor uses a 1/1.3-inch optical format with 0.6μm pixels, delivering improved dynamic range and enhanced low‑light performance. DeepPix allows each pixel to hold more light before overexposure, resulting in brighter highlights, better shadow detail, and a wider dynamic range. The sensor also supports 16-bit HDR, producing cleaner images with less noise, and Samsung says HDR quality stays consistent across 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, and 4x in‑sensor zoom levels. Additional features include 4K video recording at up to 180fps for smoother slow‑motion footage and a new lens with a light‑guiding system that directs more light onto each pixel. The ISOCELL HPC is expected to debut in smartphones later this year.
