Samsung Electronics has signed one of OpenAI's largest enterprise partnerships, bringing ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to its entire workforce. The deal extends beyond their existing semiconductor collaboration, where Samsung supplies AI chips to OpenAI, marking a significant shift toward internal AI integration.

Samsung is accelerating AI adoption within its operations as it has done externally through Galaxy AI in One UI. The company plans to deploy these tools across all branches to streamline technical and non-technical workflows, from software development to manufacturing processes.

While Codex originated as a coding assistant, Samsung sees value in its broader capabilities including code review, debugging, and team productivity structuring. OpenAI reports the tool now serves over 5 million users globally with nearly 800% growth since early February.

This move follows broader Korean industry adoption, with LG Electronics already using OpenAI tools and Seoul National University deploying ChatGPT Edu to 47,000 users. Samsung's embrace signals how major tech companies are rapidly integrating generative AI into core business operations.
