Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, succeeding the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with notable upgrades. The new model boasts Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an enhanced camera system, a larger 5,000mAh battery, and faster 45W charging. While it maintains the Z Fold 7's slimmer design and IP48 rating, it introduces a higher-resolution folding screen and promises seven years of OS upgrades.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7, despite being a year old, remains a strong contender, praised for its significantly reduced crease, wider cover screen, and S25 Ultra-shared camera. However, it lacks S Pen support and dust protection, with a smaller battery and slower charging.

The Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at $2,099.99, a $100 increase from the Z Fold 7's launch price. The Z Fold 7 is now available for less, potentially dipping further as Samsung clears inventory. Key improvements in the Z Fold 8 Ultra include a sharper inner display and more durable outer screen protection, while the core design and weight remain largely unchanged from its predecessor.
