Samsung Confirms Fold8 Ultra Name, Details Unveiled

Bluetooth SIG has listed the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in its registry, confirming the name that had sparked confusion after last month’s renaming. The database shows five model numbers—SC-56G, SCG39, SM-F976C, SM-F976Q, SM-F976Z—yet no technical details. The move removes ambiguity ahead of a July launch.

Rumors pin the Ultra at a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging and a 215‑gram chassis. When unfolded, the screen will be 4.1 mm thick, a slim 0.1 mm reduction over the Galaxy Z Fold7. The Fold8 Wide will carry a 4,800 mAh pack and a new 50‑MP camera.

Both phones are slated for a July 22 event in London, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip8. The Fold8’s display crease is rumored to rival the Oppo Find N6, hinting at sharper folding technology. Consumers will face a price jump, with the Ultra expected to carry a premium over the Wide model.

Industry observers note that the Fold8 Ultra’s thinner profile and faster charging could pressure rivals to push their own foldables harder. Samsung’s confirmation through Bluetooth SIG underscores the company’s intent to streamline naming and build confidence before the London unveiling. The move signals a clearer path for the brand’s foldable roadmap.
