Last week, Samsung Health users reported seeing a notice requesting consent to use their health data for AI training and modeling. The notice warned that withdrawing consent would delete their health data and prevent syncing with their Samsung account, drawing criticism from users.

Samsung has now published an in-app clarification stating that health data collected for AI training is separate from data used for Samsung Health services. If users withdraw consent, only the separately collected AI development data will be deleted, while existing health data for service use remains unaffected. Samsung also said it is improving the notice text for clearer presentation.

However, Samsung did not address concerns about cloud sync being disabled. According to Sam Mobile, cloud sync continues to function even after users withdraw consent for AI training data use.
