Poco has officially confirmed the chipset lineup for the upcoming F9 series. The Poco F9 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same flagship chip found on the F8 Ultra. The standard F9 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chips. Notably, the Poco F9 Pro will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series variant.

Qualcomm's naming conventions are complex, but the V-series chip offers a faster CPU than the non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, featuring the same cores with higher clock speeds. While the GPU in the V-series is 33% smaller with only 8 compute units compared to 12, its performance should be fairly equal to the standard chip. This represents a better-than-expected upgrade for the F9 Pro, while the F9 Ultra offers no performance upgrade over its predecessor.

Additionally, the China-exclusive Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max are global counterparts to the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra. The series will be revealed on September 1, featuring hero colors Aurora Green for the Pro model and Dark Cherry for the Ultra.
