Google is developing a new feature that will allow your Pixel phone to unlock your Pixel Watch. This "Phone to Watch Unlock" feature, discovered in the Connected Phone & Watch app, will automatically unlock your watch when your paired phone is unlocked, eliminating the need for PINs or patterns.

This functionality is expected to be exclusive to Pixel phone and Pixel Watch pairings. Users will need to perform a one-time setup by entering their watch's PIN or pattern on their phone. The feature will also support transferring this trusted relationship to a new Pixel Watch without re-setup.

While the launch date is unconfirmed, speculation suggests it could debut with the Pixel Watch 5, anticipated around August 12. Proactive notifications are also expected to inform users about the new, convenient unlocking method.
