Nothing has begun rolling out a significant update for its Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro devices, introducing several new features through the latest Nothing OS build. The update brings Android 16's Live Updates to the Glyph Bar, allowing supported apps to display real-time progress across the always-on display, lock screen, and notifications. AI Eraser has been added to the Gallery app, offering both automatic and manual object removal capabilities.

A new Relaxation Hub debuts with Breathing Break widgets accessible through the widget library. Users can choose from Focus, Relax, and Calm modes, each featuring distinct haptic feedback patterns. The update also adds recommended apps to the Essential Apps drawer, enabling one-tap addition to the home screen. Lock screen customization expands with a new clock face borrowed from the Phone (3), featuring an exclusive typeface and wake-up animation, plus adjustable clock sizes and alignment options.

These enhancements arrive as the Nothing Phone (4a) becomes available across multiple regions, with the Phone (4a) Pro launching soon. The timing suggests Nothing aims to provide a robust software experience from day one for its latest mid-range offerings. With features like AI Eraser and enhanced Glyph Bar functionality, the company continues differentiating its devices through unique software capabilities.
